VISA

My Visa came in the mail today!!!

I've never gone through a harder application process in my life - they definitely don't make it easy to move to another country - but no pain no gain right ?

check it out ...

Ps. all of the important information has purposely been blurred - sorry identity thieves

Essentials

Just once you think you've got it all, you remember that it's probably a good idea to pick up "THE TRANSFORMER" model of an outlet converter - to prevent the melting of all of my electronics aka only means of communication!

I also bought a couple of locks, including a laptop lock that I feel was my smartest purchase in a long time :)

video

Here is a very educational (& old school) video of the University of Graz and the surrounding city:

So aside from exploring a new continent, I'm going to need to spend some time in school.
In Austria I have decided to attend "Karl-Franzens-Universitat Graz" (University of Graz) [http://www.uni-graz.at/E/] so today I tackle a new school system and try to select courses for next year. Since I'm in communication studies at York, ideally i was looking for some media related courses but my options are few. These are the courses I'm considering:

- Canadian Cultures
- Linguistics Seminar (Youth Media Culture)
- Sustainable tourism
- Linguistics Seminar (Language and the Body)
- Propaganda & media in the first world war
- Mass Media: Analysis and Production
- forms of english past and present
So now I need to figure out which ones I'm even able to take and narrow it down to two or three :)
By the way, this is the school I'll be attending ..

Intro

Hey guys!
Welcome to my travel blog jajaasutria.com (“yes yes austria!”)
My name is Leesa and I major in Communication Studies at York University in Toronto. I'll be going on exchange to beautiful Austria in a couple of weeks and this blog will be my space to share with everyone back home what I’ve been doing and also a personal reflection on this journey that I’m about to take on :).
So stay posted - this blog will only get better with time :)
